[Building Sakai] Samigo Export of scores times out

Dear Nguni,

We have a similar issue at Stockholm, and it has actually gotten worse with Mondo upgrades. It worked (although slowly) with 300 students back in 2011, but now has major problems. I can no longer export data to Excel, or export a test to another site, and cloning can take half an hour or time out.
   The tests I'm talking about are in the range of 150 items drawn from about 20 pools of about 150-200 questions each, for a student target population of about 200-400, i.e. smaller than yours by an order of magnitude; these tests are individually generated (or retrieved). Another test we run has about 150 fixed items, for a target population of about 100-200; that test still is (barely) workable, can be cloned and retrieved, although it too can time out. I can no longer export it to another site, however. Students have to wait for about 5 minutes when this test is generated-do your tests pop up, or are they very slow in becoming available? That might be a clue.
   I'm not a programmer and can only report that our tech staff think it may have something to do with how it is "indexed" in Sakai. A 45-minute timeout indicates that some process is running incredibly inefficiently, however.
   If you build up such a test one data bank at a time, you'll notice that the first bank takes about 10 seconds to process and be absorbed, and that the time for adding another set of questions increases more or less linearally, deteriorating steadily to the point where my 20th group took over 20 minutes to be added to the test. We've tried creating these tests in successive versions of Sakai, starting about 3 years ago, and as noted above, the performance seems to have deteriorated with each new version.
   Crucially, our tech staff apparently don't know if this is a local configuration problem, or a Sakai problem. It's been around for a long time, however.

Not much help, I'm afraid, but somewhat of a confirmation of your problem. We're running Sakai (Mondo) 2.8.1-su05.

Hi All,

We are attempting to export scores of Tests&Quizzes in a class of about 27 000 with quite a few questions. The request takes a long time and then times out. I have noted this JIRA,

where it looks like this was fixed but with a much smaller class (400). Has anyone else had this issue? Or is there another way we can export the data?
