[Building Sakai] Max Due date by assignments tool

Hi all,

Within our organization we work with assignments without an end date. As the assignments tool does requires an end date and acceptance date we worked with the date farthest in the future. Now we are confronted with the end date being December 31, 2012. See added screenshot for clarification.

As this date is coming nearby we are investigating solutions to prevent our assignments closing on that date. The idea we have here is that we make the 'last selectable year' flexible by adding a property that determines the last year that can be selected. This is useful for new assignments we create. For existing assignments the idea is to develop a job that changed the dates to the 'last selectable year'.

We are now looking into this but we cannot imagine we are the only organization having this problem so via this way I hope you can share with me if you experience the same problem and if there is already a solution for Sakai 2.8.1.
