[Building Sakai] Sakai 2.9.0 - question about Java SE 7

Hello,

Just read that Java SE 6 will have its last public update Feb 2013.  Looking at SAK-20908, looks like we can safely build and deploy Sakai 2.9.0 with Java 1.7, correct?

(The 2.9.0 release notes strongly suggest Java 1.6 because it has been tested thoroughly; master pom lists jdk 1.6.)
