[Building Sakai] Building Sakai 2.9.0 with maven version 2.2.1 or 3.0?

Completely agree with what Steve says,

Maven 2.x gives checksum warnings that I haven't been able to do anything
about because of them adding more metadata to the xml files.

I'd recommend Maven 3.x for Sakai 2.9+, and Maven 2.x for 2.8-. While Maven
2.x should still work, it will give warnings.
