[Building Sakai] Timezone support

Thanks so much for your response,Francisco.At a basic level,how are dates stored(lets say the release date in announcements) so as to display correctly in different user preferred timezones?We have an older release of Sakai. When I store a Time object by executing the toString method,does it store it in GMT?
