[Building Sakai] Why do we still have the "mercury" site in Sakai's trunk

It is worth mentioning that mercury is not just a site. It is actually a
portal which was generally intended as a way to present a single site or to
make development easier or something to that effect.

In general, it is probably not a good idea to develop in the mercury portal
since it doesn't translate all that well to the charon or neo or xsl
portals all that well (as I learned painfully many moons ago).

I think killing it in all forms is probably fine as long as we have a
moment of silence and a montage of screenshots.
