[Building Sakai] Why do we still have the "mercury" site in Sakai's trunk

I've proposed the mercury site be replaced with a normal demo site as part of the experience improvement:

I agree that whilst there might be some historical reason, its a legacy we can move on from. Every time I show Sakai to someone they say "Why is it called 'Mercury'?"
