[Building Sakai] Sakai CLE build java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: PermGen space

Why are you building as root? You should build as a normal user that has access to write into the Tomcat directory.

Before you build, run 'printenv' (or just 'env') and if you don't see your MAVEN_OPTS then you need to fix your environment.
