[Building Sakai] Tomcat native libray and compression

Has anyone experienced any performance/stability issues when using Tomcat native library (tcnative-1.dll) or enabling compression for certain MIME types? We are planning to use these to see if it helps improve the overall performance of Sakai, and want to make sure that it doesn't have any negative side effects.


Our environment is Sakai 2.8.1, Windows Server 2003/2008 64-bit, Tomcat 5.5.34 (no Apache) and Java 6.
