[Building Sakai] Samigo submission question

I looked at the event logs, the only entry for that user session is a sam.assessment.take. From the catalina.out, this is the only thing I see around the time of submission which might be related. Does it look like anything suspicious?

I exported once more of the xml, using 'save as' in the browser instead of copying it to a file. I selected QTI v1.2 format and it seemed exported fine. Attached.

I'm looking at one more student to see whether there is more findings.

Hi Kelly,

Did these two students see the submission confirmation page? For example, did they see the Confirmation Number? The submission page looks like:

You have completed this assessment. Your confirmation information is below. Click Continue to go to your Assessments list.

They have to click "Submit for Grade" on two continuous pages to get this confirmation.

Please let me know if you find anything in the log. Also, can you use one student as an example to look for his related activities in sakai_event table?

By the way, I got an error when trying to import your XML. Did you get it through exporting from Samigo directly?

Thanks,
Karen

Karen,

This test is a non-timed, unlimited submission, one-page assessment. And according to 2 of the students who has the problem, they submitted successfully and didn't see any error. I'm attaching the xml and table records of all submissions of that assessment. You can see 7 of them have the status of 0 (in progress?). I will try to dig through the log to see whether errors happened.

Thanks,
Kelly

Hi Keli,

Do you know if the students has click submit on the Confirm Submit page? We have some cases that students didn't really submit the assessment but they thought they did. And, if they did click submit on the Confirm Submit page, did they get any errors?

Or if this is a timed assessment and these submissions are auto-submitted?

Is this a one page assessment? If you want, can you send me the exported assessment XML and the data in the sam_assessmentgrading_t table so I can take a look?

Thanks,
Karen

Hi Samigo developers,

We got a few reports on students' quizzes not being to change status to 'submitted' (they stayed as 'in progress' in instructor's view) after they actually submitted the test. I looked at the sam_assessmentgrading_t table and found that in some of these cases (3 out of 7 claimed), the submitteddate, totalautoscore and finalscore are populated, but status and forgrade stayed at 0. The other 4 cases don't have any of the above columns populated as a submitted one. Could you shed some light on what could have caused this issue?

Thanks,
