[Building Sakai] weird mail archive problem: messages not appearing in UI

I'm trying to track down a problem, and wondered if anyone else has seen it. In 2.9 b02, mail is sent to a site. It goes to members. It shows in the mail archive. But the person who sent the message doesn't see it in the mail archive UI. Logging out and in fixes it. I assume there's some kind of caching in the session nor tool session.
