[Building Sakai] Different gateway skin for different user types

Has anybody implemented a different gateway skin for different user 
types? I'm thinking along the lines of a cookie being set when a user 
logs in for the first time and the portal reading it and setting the 
skin appropriately on subsequent accesses?
