[Building Sakai] Site Information Display

We saw something similar at IU when we upgraded to 2.7. We saw the title for the Home tool (on the left nav) change to "Site Information Display" if there was only one tool placement (sakai.iframe.site only and no other synoptic tools).

Thanks for the reply.

Your screenshot is exactly what I see in 2.7.1. Our previous developer must have created some custom code to change that title. I will have to take a look through our 2.5.2 code to see what he did differently. If I can't find it, you're right a database trigger might be an easy way to implement it.

Thanks for the help!
Chris

You're probably going to have to post a screenshot or something?

On a 2.5.6 instance (which should be similar to a 2.5.2) I see the same display as a 2.7.1 when creating a new site. I don't remember this synoptic tool (sakai.iframe.site) being changed. It seems to only be linked up to the site description for the contents of the iframe.

Changing the title to be dynamically different might be tough because the title is rendered by the portal. I'm not sure where you'd put this special case if you wanted it to happen just for this tool. Perhaps a database trigger might be the easiest?

Hi All,

I'm working on a Sakai 2.5.2 to 2.7.1 upgrade. In our 2.5.2 Sakai instance,on a site's home page it displays the sites short description as a title, just under the sites tab bar. In our 2.7.1 instance it defaults to the title of Site Information Display. Where would I look to programmatically change this to the site short description?

Thanks
Chris
