Agreed, Trimpath hasn't pushed a release since May 2008. But a point of clarification, Trimpath isn't a Google project; it's just hosted at google.code.

There is a relatively new official jQuery templating plugin that has the official blessing of the jQuery project, and it's being coded by, drum roll please, Microsoft. 

Worth a look for anyone doing front-end development:
