[Building Sakai] Gradebook spreadsheet upload causing server hang?

There was this change that put some limits and checks on the size of the
uploaded spreadsheet file into gradebook: SAK-16291
That was committed to 2.6.3 and 2.6.x in revision 78811 on June 28th 2010.

I know we got hit by that a few times, but I don't know of anything else.
What you're describing (large grades+large classes) doesn't seem entirely
related to this though. Maybe 1MB is too big a limit for "
gradebook.upload.max"?
