[Building Sakai] My Workspace - Preferences - Privacy -- anyone have patch for critical bug?

Good morning, all.

I'm not sure how many people are reviewing the lists over the holiday break, but hope someone is. :)

Before the break we discovered an issue with the Privacy Status within Sakai (My Workspace > Preferences > Privacy):
https://jira.sakaiproject.org/browse/SAK-21599

Bottom line: the feature doesn't work any more. (Given that it's been made optional, no one can test for it in QA... so I'm guessing that's why it hasn't been discovered yet. And while a critical element of any academic institution, I don't know many students that actually use it. Another reason it likely hasn't been discovered yet. However, for FERPA and school privacy policies, the feature has to work.)

We have been working with Longsight on several bugs for Announcements and will work with them on a new issue we discovered with Samigo/Tests & Quizzes. We don't have the resources right now to tackle this Privacy item right now, but I'm hoping someone already has a patch and just needs to contribute it.

Can someone please take a look and see if a patch already exists or develop a new one? This is a borderline blocker, IMHO.

Here are some possibly related tickets that might help:
https://jira.sakaiproject.org/browse/SAK-18026 (*any chance this fix broke the tool?)
https://jira.sakaiproject.org/browse/SAK-19444
https://jira.sakaiproject.org/browse/SAK-21317

* The issue we're reporting is that the tool says there are no sites even if the user has sites. Odds are the feature still works, but maybe there's a logic problem when trying to not display the UI if the user doesn't have any sites (?). That's my hope -- that it's a simple fix. That's why I listed this JIRA, in case this would be a good place to start. The bug fix in 18026 is very important -- people shouldn't see drop downs if they don't have sites to adjust -- but maybe something in the code (or some other tweak down the line) is clogging the works?

Thank you in advance for your time!

Sincerely,
