Tee hee, oops.

The OpenSyllabus crowd have an interesting looking product. I made some
enquiries which people may be interested in:

Regarding project status: "OpenSyllabus is very much alive! We are not very
active in the community right now but the project is going really well.
Feedback from our users is very good. I hope we find out how to better
integrate our work into the community." -- Rémi Saïas

Regarding 2.7 compatibility: "We know that OpenSyllabus doesn't work yet
with Sakai 2.7.x. Other members of the community are looking into this,
including rSmart. You might ask to the sakai-dev list.

Also, they are good chances that we try to upgrade OpenSyllabus to Sakai
2.7.x ourselves in the following months if nobody had it done before, but
this is not scheduled yet." -- Rémi Saïas

Instructions from Rémi for getting and installing the latest OpenSyllabus
are below.

You can checkout the current deployment branch easily:
URL: svn://pollux.hec.ca/full_versions/branches/HEC_Prod_A2010
username: sakai (read-only)
password: osyl123

Once the checkout is complete just go into the subdirectory
HEC_Prod_A2010/source_modif and run linuxBatchCopy.sh or
windowsBatchCopy.bat to copy the files we had to change for our institution
under source_modif into source/...

Then you just have to do a mvn clean install -Pmini sakai:deploy etc. you
know the rest :-)

The source_modif directory is a way to keep track separately of files we had
to modify (from the 2.6.1 branch). There are also some Sakai modules we
modified from the beginning of the project, namely sdata and citations which
are externals in the source directory.

Well I guess this is enough to get you started with OpenSyllabus. Thanks for
your interest! And please, do not hesitate to contact us at
opensyllabus at hec.ca or on the sakai-dev list.

Cheers,
Rémi Saïas for the OpenSyllabus team
