I know that in Sakai 3, even in the very very early days, it is/was possible to see poll tool results displayed as, say, a pie chart or histogram. Has anybody implemented this for Sakai 2?
Would it be possible to use the same code that is used by site stats ?
Another suggestion could be to use gRaphael JS library (http://g.raphaeljs.com/) - the benefit of this sort of approach is that one could do live updates via calls to Entity Broker.
It would be quite nice to animate the charts so there's a smooth transition as the distribution of votes changes. gRaphael doesn't seem to do this - does anybody know of a JS library that does?
This is all connected to our (m.ox) mobile phone portal initiative to allow the polls tool to be used for on-the-fly real time voting via mobile phone within a lecture / seminar; having a nice pretty display of the results would be excellent.
