[Building Sakai] Sakai 2.8 Navigation Minimizer - SAK

There is nothing 2.8-specific in the code.   You might try a full checkout of /portal trunk into a 2.7 distro and see what happens.  There may have been other changes in trunk that are 2.8 specific and if that is the case, you can either pull the patches back or pull the files back.

You might need to so some skin tweaking but we tried to make it as compatible with existing skins as possible.

I don't think that we would back-port this to the 2-7-x branch as it is non-upwards compatible change which we like to avoid in a branch.   But we could make a special branch or tag for folks who wanted to run it.

I think that it could make it into 2.6 as well without too much effort.

Let us know in the JIRA how it goes.  In a sense - this will be some nice testing to help make the 2.8 release more solid.
