[Building Sakai] SharePoint Sakai Web Part?

I'm just putting the finishing touches on a Sakai connector for uPortal (or any JSR-168 portal) that uses a combination of BasicLTI and web services to render Sakai tools in uPortal. More soon.

But if you only want some data feeds, you can get a fair bit of information via REST through EntityBroker:

http://your.sakai.server/direct

It's very simple to write new providers to expose the information you need.

cheers,
Steve

In that case, look at the various clever portal approaches using web services, a Sakai produced RSS feed, or the Indiana approach that made a specialized feed and then you make a Web Part UI that pulls the info in the background and then displays a dashboard.
