[Building Sakai] Connection pool config documentation

Is there "official" (more or less) documentation somewhere about
configuring the Sakai connection pool or switching over to C3P0 from
DBCP? I tried a bit of googling and didn't have much luck so I thought
I would see if anyone knows where it might be (or if it exists).
