Embedded Google calendar will look like this: https://weblearn.ox.ac.uk/portal/hierarchy/colleges/confcoll

Thanks for the idea, that might be a solution. Will have to see how the embedded calendar looks. We are possibly doing this for other tools as well though so a generic Sakai based solution might be needed.

The idea is probably to render the tool in an iframe on the site, then users that are already authenticated and are in the site will be able to automatically click through and modify the tool.

cheers,
Steve

what's wrong with exporting the calendar & rendering within (say) a public Google calendar?

Hi all,

We have a local requirement to expose tools from a Sakai site, eg the Calendar, on an external webpage so that the general public can see it. Ideally we would like to keep this site private, but signal that that specific tool is allowed to be viewed by the public.

I've filed this as http://jira.sakaiproject.org/browse/SAK-18785 and have an idea for a possible solution in the JIRA, however would greatly welcome insight from people knowledgeable of the deepest internals of Sakai.

cheers,
Steve
