[Building Sakai] A consolidated assignment submission?

Hi Joshua
I am not a developer but saw this go by. I've been working on a UX/T&L project looking across users of learning activities and found that instructors use various tools to have students turn in work, often in ways we didn't expect.

For instance, it sounds like what the instructor wants is to view all responses at once, possibly so he/she can grade them. If so, what you ask is possible as a Tests & Quizzes short answer--instructors can see all short responses listed on one page and grade them all at once.

Would you mind describing the context of the request, if that wasn't it? It's useful for our purposes.

Subject: [Building Sakai] A consolidated assignment submission?

An instructor asked whether the following would be possible.

Can you have an assignment submission, where each student has provided
a response, and the result is available as a single document? Also,
students should not be able to see other students' submissions.

I took a look at the available tools. The discussion forums wouldn't
work, because students can see what other students have written. The
Tests & Quizzes, Assignments, and Drop box don't look like they would
help, because you need to click on each individual submission.

Does anyone have an idea of how Sakai could fulfill this task?
