.  We've adapter it as a filter to avoid modifying ContainerLogin  
directly, but other than that is pretty much the same code.

I'm trying to understand why a new thread is being invoked to create  
the user, it doesn't seems necessary to me.  I'm trying to track down  
some rather nasty production issues, and I just want to rule this out  
as the source.  If someone knows who developed this maybe point me  
towards them and I can ask directly.
