[Building Sakai] Allocating memory to tomcat(s)

I'd suggest 2x 5G tomcats. As the total memory size goes up, so does the maximum Full GC time, which can be an issue. Plus more tomcats gives you a bit more redundancy and ability to update app servers without taking down the cluster (if you want to be able to do that).

Folks,
Just wondering .. does anyone have experience on what would work "better" in a sakai installation - an app server with apache front ending with mod_jk a 64 bit tomcat running a 10gb memory partition or apache load balancing front ending with mod_jk with two 64 bit tomcats running with 5gb memory partition? [on a Sun T2000]
