I'm not sure what the "mfr_m2-m3_mysql_conversion.sql" script is... I guess Anthony know's why he added it?? However, you should only have to run the two following scripts:
https://source.sakaiproject.org/svn//msgcntr/trunk/messageforums-hbm/src/sql/mysql/mfr_conversion_26x-27x.sql
https://source.sakaiproject.org/svn//msgcntr/trunk/messageforums-hbm/src/sql/mysql/mfr_conversion_271-272.sql
And also, since you are adding the new synoptic tool, you should consider running the content quartz job... you can read more about it at http://confluence.sakaiproject.org/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=68162463 along with the new properties in Msgnctr. I believe the job's name is "UpdateSynopticMessageCounts"
