[Building Sakai] Sakai 2.7 Installation

I am a new comer to Sakai environment and NOT a JAVA developer. Trying to
understand the sakai application in detail.

I installed the demo version of rSmart's Sakai 2.7 into my laptop [Windows
Vista, 3GB RAM (may be little less)]. Installation went thru fine and it
runs also [Only on Chrome Browser NOT on IE - It says Page not found]. On
Chrome after I start using some toolss, the Blue screen comes up. My guess
is it requires more memory.

My question is how much memory it requires to run sakai demo version
comfortably on a Laptop?

Why IE is not recognising the localhost? But Chrome does?
