[Building Sakai] Archiving Blackboard to move to Sakai

If you are on a version of Bb that can successfully export Content System
content to the course archive file (careful, the earlier versions didn't get
this entirely right), you'll find the files and corresponding IMS XML
manifest in the /csfiles/ directory of the archived .zip file.

Alternatively, Blackboard supplies a set of APIs to access the content (
http://library.blackboard.com/ref/3b92cf48-4b64-4ca1-afdb-a6927d1f888f/index.htm).
These can be used independently or in conjunction with the Xythos APIs (the
underlying technology for the Bb Content System). There was a thread on the
Blackboard open source developer list the other week about how to get an
output stream of binary content in the Content System:

PS: I'm not a Sakai admin, but I did used to work for Bb. HTH ;-)

All,

For any institutions that have migrated from Blackboard to Sakai, did any of
you use the Content System in Blackboard? If so, how did you go about
archiving content off of the Blackboard server to move to Sakai? I posted
this question to the Blackboard admin list, but I?ve received no replies.
Here?s hoping my fellow Sakai admins are more responsive!

Thanks,
Nathan
