[Building Sakai] Email Archive Messages on Community Servers

I'm testing notifications in the Preferences tool as they relate to Email Archive on our test version of 2.7. To reproduce the behavior I'm trying to send out emails via an email archive alias on a couple of the community servers, but nothing comes through. I've set the options and permissions in the tool to allow communication but still no luck. 
Is there a server-side setting that needs to be turned on?
