[Building Sakai] Missing messages in Sent folder of messages

Hi Kenwrick,
I'm not sure where those messages went, but I can offer some additional information about how the Messages tool works behind the scenes. The recipients of the message can be found in MFR_PVT_MSG_USR_T. Each record in this table maps to the actual message in MFR_MESSAGE_T via messageSurrogateKey. The TYPE_UUID maps to the folder where this message exists (received, sent, deleted, or a custom folder). The types (ie folders) are found in the CMN_TYPE_T table. It also tracks the read/unread status for the message. So there "should" be a record for your user in this table for this message with a TYPE_UUID of the sent folder if it wasn't missing.
If I remember correctly from our own issues with messages, that modified field on the MFR_MESSAGE_T is misleading. I think that when any recipient reads a message, instead of updating the individual user's read status, it updates the message's collection (the child MFR_PVT_MSG_USR_T recs) and re-saves the entire message object thus changing the modified time.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
Have a great day,
Michelle

Folks,
We have a student who reported that she sent out a message and there is no record of it in her Sent folder (sakai 2.5.3). In sakai_event we do see this:

Her uploading two sets of attachments and messages.new. I checked her subsequent sessions and I didn't find a messages.delete from her.
Looking at those two messages I see:

Any sights on how the modified field is used in mfr_message_t? I haven't been able to replicate updating that field with a different user. That user does have these two events ..

I know a double delete (flag message to "Deleted folder", then delete from that folder) generates a messages.delete event and if I move that message to a folder and delete that folder the message is gone, but no event is generated for the whole sequence.
Any insights on where these messages went?
