[Building Sakai] sakai email authentication

Iam using sakai 2.6 rc1 with kernel 1.0.10 in that i added a patch for email
authentication as per instructions in sakai jira . When i add new
particpants with their email address  iam getting error in Tomcat
" Incorrect Authentication data" . can any one tell me what is the error
