[Building Sakai] Assignment import/export

That's a great idea. We have a couple of departments that are using sites to collect assignments, but they are doing it in document form (in resources). Simplifying the import/export process would make the assignments that much more valuable for the faculty who use them.

Another feature we sorely miss in the Assignments tool (one of our legacy systems used to be able to do it) is to be able to let students share and comment on each other's assignments submissions (if the instructor wants them to) in groups or as a whole class. This is a more complicated request, of course, but I wanted to mention it in the context of improving the Assignments tool.

Subject: [Building Sakai] Assignment import/export

Has anyone ever had the need to import/export assignments?
The idea being that teachers might want to be able to share examples
of good assignments or collect and organize them in a central site for
sharing.
It would seem that an assignment description and supporting files
could be zipped up easily enough.
