[Building Sakai] can i remove synoptic view of tools

For this you'll most likely need to mod SiteAction where the list of  
tools for the Home page are set. See SYNOPTIC_TOOL_ID_MAP

I remember seeing this in Jira as well, IMO you should be able to  
remove them and keep them removed.
