Columbia has been running Mailsender (1.4 branch, r56050) in its 
2.5.x implementation since January with a fair amount of success. 
I would agree that it's a good quality contrib tool.

If anyone needs advice on deploying it in 2.5.x or wants my 
"changes" that I started for 2.6.x, I'd be happy to 
answer questions or provide the patch file.
