Hi Steve,

>From what I could tell, there wasn't any real pattern to the events and the offset was random. I don't have access to it from home, so I'll take another look tomorrow at work.

Most of the time, the dates are fine, but there is an alarming percentage that aren't.

Chris

Hi Chris,

what is your DB server reporting as the current time/date (select sysdate from dual). I remember having an issue a while back regarding dates and I had to do some forcing with LOCAL_TIMEZONE. I haven't got my Oracle instance here to check. What events are specifically the cause or is it all of them and is the date offset always the time for you (and was it always the same offset for the other people you mentioned?).

cheers,
Steve

	Hi All,

The Statistics module I wrote for Sakai at CSU has been having a little grief lately due to some of the dates in the Sakai Event and Session table being in the future. From what I can tell, it's the same thing reported in SAK-11916.

A long story short, it looks like that with Oracle, the Event system is inserting an incorrect timestamp for the event. We are seeing dates a long way into the future (as far as 12 months) and others have reported dates in the past (as they archive their event table - we don't).

Ian Boston couldn't reproduce the error, but I was wondering if *anyone* has seen or worked out a solution or work around? I'd really like to get this sorted as the stats I collect depend on the dates and if they aren't correct then the stats are useless...

	Thanks,
