[Building Sakai] gradebook: get course grade for one student?

Hi All,

The gradebook service seems to only allow for the retrieval of
calculated course grades for the whole class rather than individually. 
In the use case I'm working on (overview of a students activity in a
site) this is a performance killer on any large site.

Is     getCalculatedCourseGrade(java.lang.String gradebookUid)  really
the only way of getting this info, or am I missing something?
