An additional 14 organizations have updated their 2x production/pilot record(s) in Jira since my 23 November email. If your Jira PROD record is out-of-date or you would like to add your running instance of Sakai to the list of known installations please contact me per the instructions laid out in the thread below.

Cheers,

Anthony

>
> A question was posed on the dev list today: how does one report a Sakai 2x production/pilot deployment to others in the Community? The community website sakaiproject.org is not very helpful in this regard; the "who's using the CLE" page does not provide any instructions on self-reporting nor does the CLE page or the FAQ page. This is something that Sean Keesler and I will fix so that letting the Community know you are running Sakai is simplified.
>
> But in the interim do this:
>
> NEW INSTALLATIONS
>
> We would like to hear from you (although you are under no obligation to announce yourself). If you have a new installation (pilot or production) please contact me directly at arwhyte at sakaifoundation.org or arwhyte at umich.edu and provide me with the following info:
>
> Name of institution
> Sakai version deployed
> Deployment type (pilot or production)
> Security contact(s)
>
> I will then set up a production/pilot entry for you in Jira, get you listed on sakaiproject.org as well as see about getting you on the Sakai Google map (send me your longitude/latitude coordinates) and, not least, add your security contacts to our private security contacts email list that we use to report security vulnerabilities and provide patches prior to public releases.
>
>
> EXISTING INSTALLATIONS
>
> If you have an existing Jira record and have not updated it recently please do so. Old info is great for historians but of little use to potential adopters or others in the Community. If you need assistance, write me. I have updated a number of the field values so versions like Sakai 2.7.1 and 2.6.3 are now available to select.

> PROD DATASET NEEDS REFRESHING
>
> The information self-reported by schools relative to their production environments provides a dataset that ranges from the Sakai version deployed to specific JVM settings to local team size. If kept up-to-date (and this includes ensuring that the form and options available for selection are maintained) this data has its uses for both adopting schools (e.g., if I adopt Sakai has anyone out there integrated it with Banner?) to veteran deployers reviewing another school's selection of hardware.
>
> Since the start of the 2010 only 44 entries (21.67%) out of a total of 203 in Jira have been updated. Below is a list of schools who have updated their entries since 1 August 2010:
>
> Production
>
> Australian National University, 2.6.x
> Brock University, 2.7.0
> Charles Sturt University, 2.4.x
> Danubius University of Galati, 2.7.x
> Johns Hopkins University, 2.6.x
> LAMP (12 schools), 2.7.x
> Mount Holyoke College, 2.6.x
> Oxford University, 2.6.x
> Universidade Fernando Pessoa, 2.7.0
> Universite de Poitiers, 2.6.x
> Université du Littoral Côte d'Opale, 2.7.0
> University of Cape Town, 2.6.x
> University of Dayton, 2.6.x
> University of Delaware, 2.6.x
> University of Florida, 2.6.x
> University of Michigan, 2.6.1
> University of Rhode Island, 2.6.x
> University of Windsor, 2.5.2
>
> * 14 of the 18 production entries listed above provide numbers on total active users; combined totals for these 14 deployments = 297,750 active users
>
> Pilots
>
> Hosei University ITRC, 2.7.x
> Istanbul Kültür Üniversitesi, 2.7.x
>
> I provide links below as well as some further numbers relative to version usage, much of which is no doubt out-of-date. If we could end the year with a dataset that is current it would provide the Community with a variety of useful insights into the world of 2x.

>> There is a problem in how you put in information into the site! I have been trying to figure out how it is done but not worked out the procedure. Would be good if there was clear information on how that is done.
>>
>> We have been running Sakai since last September, first on a trial basis , and from January we have implemented Sakai as the sole learning platform for the whole university. I’m sure I’m not the first one that finds the http://sakaiproject.org/ site somewhat confusing, perhaps it is a language problem, but clear guidelines would benefit us all when it comes to promoting the excellent Sakai software to others.
