The University of Florida is currently seeking a talented Unix/Linux
System Administrator with a focus on Oracle databases systems in the
Open Systems Group within Computing and Network Services. The Open
Systems Group provides Unix/Linux/Windows server hosting for central
campus infrastructure, and Unix/Linux/Windows systems administration for
critical campus services ELearning (Sakai) and associated Oracle
databases and web applications, campus E-mail, VMware hosting, as well
as several OIT specific applications.

Reporting to the manager of the Open Systems Group within CNS, this
position provides planning, development and system administration for
the campus core Course Management System (Sakai) service.

Candidate will be a member of a team responsible for designing,
installing and maintaining the Sakai infrastructure, including
production front-end application servers and application engines, as
well as test/development servers and shall have key responsibilities for
the management of the backend Oracle database systems. In addition, the
candidate will work closely with other team members on load balancing,
backend storage and backup services. The CMS solution runs on RedHat
Linux OS and a variety of hardware, including NAS and SAN.

This is a full-time position, with a salary range of $45,000 - $70,000
annually, commensurate with experience.
