[Deploying Sakai] Linking 2 pages

Hello Friends,
I am trying to create a 'reference/pointer/link' from one page to another.
I've tried a bunch of things, including creating hyperlinks (in the Site
Information Display tool on page 1) to page 2. Here are some example
hyperlinks I tried out:

/portal/page/<pageid>

/portal/tool/<toolid>

/portal/site/<siteid>page/<pageid>

These don't really take me to page 2. They still keep me on page 1, but
embed page 2 or the tool on page 2 into page 1.

I want it to open up page 2. Any ideas how this can be done? Is there
another way to do this?
