[Deploying Sakai] Trouble with getting the binary Sakai to run

Hi Shane,

You aren't using the Tomcat that ships with Ubuntu are you? It's  
recommended not to do this and to download a fresh copy, unpack and go.

When you startup Tomcat, take a look at TOMCAT/logs/catalina.out via  
'tail -f catalina.out' to see whats happening. Post back your results.

Also, what version Java? And do you have your environment variables  
setup correctly?
