Presenter: Dr. Reba-Anna Lee

In the past three years or so, a major disruption has occurred in the
higher education world, and its name is massive open online course (MOOC).
Now anyone can take a college course online, and they decide what and when
they can learn, or even if they want credit for it. And with companies like
Coursera offering courses using a slick and new platform, we need to
adventure into this realm as well. This new style of teaching and learning
is another transformation in the world of distance education that has taken
the traditional format and turned it on its head. So why is MOOC course
design so important? We will look at MOOC design, load testing, "aftercare"
of a MOOC and how you can effectively run a MOOC at your institution using
Sakai CLE.

Dr. Reba-Anna Lee, the Associate Director of Academic Technology and
eLearning at Marist College, works to bring educational technology to
faculty, staff, and students. She manages the office of Academic Technology
and eLearning which is responsible for overseeing a wide range of
instructional technology initiatives, including distance learning, faculty
professional development, and learner support.

As the Associate Director, she guides her team on special projects and
oversees the daily operations of the Sakai Learning Management System on
campus. Before coming to Marist College, Dr. Lee taught College Writing and
Introduction to College Math at Argosy University. Her extensive background
includes over 10 years of K-12 experience as well as 7 years of higher
education administrative and teaching experience.

Dr. Lee has presented at numerous national higher education and K-12
conferences including EDUCAUSE, Sloan-C, SIGUCCS, NACUBO, and the
International Sakai conferences. Dr. Lee holds a Bachelor of Arts in
English Literature, a Master of Education in educational technology and a
Doctorate of Education in educational technology.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing
information about joining the webinar.
