Subject: [DG: Teaching & Learning] please contribute staff and financial resources to the S3 project

Colleague

The Sakai 3 project is now in full swing with the appointment of Alan Marks as the Sakai 3 project director (http://sakaiproject.org/news/foundation-selects-sakai-3-project-director). The first S3 community pre-release will be at the end of September 2010 (while NYU and Berkeley will have S3 institutional pre-releases respectively in July and August 2010).

You can follow and participate in the S3 managed project by responding to information at, and linked to from

http://confluence.sakaiproject.org/display/SAKDEV/Sakai+3 (e.g. the roadmap, design model, development work, MoU).

We need significant staff and financial resources for the S3 project to achieve the deliverables in the roadmap. Please discuss in your institutions whether you could contribute finances (we still need at least USD250 000) or staff (we still need at least 10FTEs - see MoU for breakdown of type of staff required).

If your institution is able to contribute, be it a small or substantial contribution, please complete the MoU and send to Ian Dolphin <iandolphin at sakaifoundation.org> with a cc to me and to Alan Marks <alanmarks at sakaifoundation.org>. We are keen to know of your commitment ASAP. Thank you.

Regards

Philip
