[DG: Teaching & Learning] [Using Sakai] Tests and quizzes woes

Mathieu,

Does the problem happen in IE8/9 or Safari (or Chrome)? There were
longstanding problems with QT plugin playback in FF, so we only recently
started recommending FF for language center instructors and students. If
the Samigo functionality is important, or a total pain to do without, then
a browser recommendation might be an easier choice for the time being.

Just an idea,

Ken Romeo

Subject: [Using Sakai] Tests and quizzes woes

Dear dev and user lists,

According to a comment on https://jira.sakaiproject.org/browse/SAM-1244 ,
this issue also occurs on 2.7.1, so more folks should be aware.

This has caused so much trouble on our campus that our distance learning
testing center has reverted back to paper tests, which is making our
instructors very angry.

After the patch has been active for 10 days or so, our most common problem
is the fact that users have to clear their cache to get the new js/css.

We are starting to consider finding alternatives to Samigo at Delaware. I
have been doing too much forensic into it recently, and faculty are afraid
students will exploit this to get away with "Sakai ate my quiz".

Anyone else experiencing this issue in 2.7 or 2.8?

Mathieu
