I had this written verbatim, Matt beat me to it ;)

Its also worth noting that a lot of tools are now independently released so you can have different versions of tools working with different versions of Sakai. It is up to the tool project teams to comment on what is supported, but the same rules generally apply: current release plus one back.

If in doubt about a particular tool just post on list.
