Generally for Sakai we support the current version, and provide minor fixes
for the previous version. When the next version is released the -2 version
is EOL.

So 2.8 is current (2.8.2 specifically), 2.7 is previous, 2.6 and before are
no longer community supported.
By the end of 2012, likely 2.9 will be current, 2.8 will be previous and
2.7 and before will no longer be supported.

Sakai (CLE) for the last few months hasn't had a community coordinator, so
these documents haven't been the most up-to-date. That hopefully will
improve in the near future.
