Will,
This is correct, control reporting doesn't recognize the hierarchy, just the overall template.
So you'll see all items, but only responses that relate to the groups hierarchy tree.

Subject: [Contrib: Evaluation System] Reporting on hierarchy node specific items
Hey everyone,
We've got a hierarchy that looks like this:
Virginia Tech
|__College of Natural Resources
|__Fisheries and Wildlife
|__Forestry
We have several groups assigned to each of the two last nodes. We
assigned a template with an item that are specific to Forestry. This
worked perfect when taking the evaluation - students in Forestry saw the
Forestry item, and answered it. Students in Fisheries didn't see the
Forestry item, which is good.
When an instructor in Forestry views their report, they see the Forestry
item. When an instructor in Fisheries and Wildlife views their report,
they *also* see the Forestry item. This means that the report is showing
all items in the evaluations, even if those items are assigned to a node
which the group the report is for does not fall under. The item shows up
as having no responses, but it shouldn't show up at all. If I log in as
an administrator and generate a report for groups which are not under
the Forestry node, I get the same incorrect behavior. The Forestry item
shows up with no responses, even though no members of the groups this
report is for had the chance to respond to that item.
We're using an alpha of 1.3.0. I'm not sure any other schools are trying
out hierarchy alongside the tool's out-of-the-box reporting, so I don't
know if anyone else would have encountered this issue. I'd love to hear
if anyone else has seen it, or is able to duplicate it. Or if this
doesn't seem like a bug to you, that'd be good to know too.
-Will
