[cle-release-team] [samigo-team] More Samigo questions for 2.9.0 release

Hi all,

Actually, I have no idea clearly about the location to put those scripts. Is it better to append those SQL statements into the
following?
https://source.sakaiproject.org/svn/sam/trunk/samigo-pack/src/sql/hsqldb/sakai_samigo.sql
https://source.sakaiproject.org/svn/sam/trunk/samigo-pack/src/sql/mysql/sakai_samigo.sql
https://source.sakaiproject.org/svn/sam/trunk/samigo-pack/src/sql/oracle/sakai_samigo.sql

Sincerely,
Yuki Yamada
(Just now joined samigo-team ML.)

I saw Yuki added a patch to SAM-878. Should I merge it? Also, what is the appropriate location to put these scripts?

  Thanks,
  Karen

I can add a little more detail... The intention is to have the default 2.9 conversion scripts assume that English is the default
language. If an institution has another language by default, they will need to add/modify their own SQL to make sure the conversion
works properly. There are already conversions available for English, Catalan, and Spanish (listed as attachments in the JIRA). The
conversion is only for the old tests, as Neal points out.

Before this change, there was some text that would _not_ reflect the user's language preference. After this change, it will
dynamically reflect the user's language preference.

We should probably add some suitably apologetic message to the release notes regarding non-English institutions.

than what has been supplied in the database conversion, will need to add their own SQL to make sure the conversion happens in their
language too. For new Samigo tests, the fix should be fine. The issue is only for the conversion of old tests.

will need to update the conversion scripts with their particular language.

was moved into trunk, the accessibility working group would be happy to do further testing on it. Though, we are not experts on the
Samigo tool.
