Okay, sounds like we are converging on a consensus recommendation of Java 6/Tomcat 7. However, the TCC presentation in Atlanta did say Java 7 was also supported, so would be good to know if that is still true - https://wiki.jasig.org/display/JCON/2012-06-14+Sakai+CLE+TCC+Update
