[samigo-team] EMI issues for Sakai 10

Hi Jaques,

I have merged SAM-2018, SAM-2292, and SAM-2293. Please verify it in nightly
and so I can merge them into 10x branch.

I have added some comments in SAM-2295, please let me know what you think.
