[samigo-team] SAM-2207 and related tickets

Samigo devs,
Can someone take a quick look at this ticket and the related ones:
https://jira.sakaiproject.org/browse/SAM-2207

I *think* this may already be solved but somehow never got merged back
to 2.9.x. If someone can verify/confirm that then we can get this
merged back to 2.9.x and avoid even more tickets being created about
this.
